Pada Sabtu (4/6/2022) silam, pelantun lagu piala dunia 'Waka-Waka', Shakira, mengumumkan perpisahannya dengan Gerard Pique. Shakira menjatuhkan keputusan berpisah ini setelah 11 tahun bersama dengan 2 buah hati yang melengkapinya. 

Sebelum perpisahan ini diumumkan, Shakira merilis lagu dengan judul 'Te Felicito' pada bulan April lalu. Lagu ini diduga menjadi ungkapan kekecewaan Shakira kepada Gerard Pique. 

Pesebak bola Barcelona dengan posisi centre-back tersebut diduga berselingkuh dengan wanita lain. Namun, hal ini masih simpang siur adanya. Kedunya hanya memberikan pernyataan atas privasinya.

"Kami minta maaf untuk memberikan konfirmasi bahwa kami berpisah. Demi kebaikan anak-anak kami, yang menjadi prioritas utama, kami meminta agar privasi kami dihormati. Terima kasih atas pengertian Anda." Kata mereka dilansir dari Twitter resmi @brfootball.
